The third Rockfield Country Music Festival takes place on the Queen's Jubilee bank holiday weekend from Friday 1st of June to Monday 4th June 2012.
The Festival is a 4-day extravaganza of Wild West and country music entertainment which will see 24 bands and artists playing in a huge marquee down in fields by the River Monnow, three miles outside of Monmouth. Last year saw 300 caravans and as many as 3,000 people attend the show and 2012 looks to be bigger and better than ever!
Evening Entertainment
Live music is provided by many British Country Music Award Winners including Texas Tornadoes, Spur, Chris James and Kay D and Nashville Star Search winner, Rachel Cain.
The evening is compered by DJ Pepper who will be playing your favourite country music tracks between bands. Western dress is ecnouranged and is usually worn by a vast majority of the attendees. There is also the nightly prize for the best dressed, a charity raffle, etc.
Afternoon Entertainment
Each year, the festival holds a Battle Of The Country Bands competition on the Saturday and Sunday afternoons where twelve up and coming country artists and bands compete for audience votes to win £2000 of recording time from sponsors Monnow Valley Studio. Last year saw Dutch band, Sidewinder, who had travelled for sixteen hours just to play the competition, walk away with the prize and they return to play as a main act in 2012.

Other entertainment includes The Lawmen wild west show which re-enacts gunfights and bar brawls from the Wild West, plus line dancing lessons, a bucking bronco machine, horseshoe throwing, and a fast draw contest.
As many as twenty trade stands will be selling authentic American cowboy hats, boots, belts, crinoline dresses and other western wear, which is usually worn by a majority of the attendees at the event, making for an amazing 'American frontier' atmosphere.
