The Rockfield Country Music Festival is the brainchild of Norman Crockett. Norman has been a huge country music fan for many years and has been to many other country festivals and clubs over this period. He had always wanted to do his own country music festival and with the help of many friends and volunteers, launched the first festival in June 2010.

For a first festival, it was a great success attracting more than 1000 people over the 3-day weekend. With Norman's knowledge of other festivals, taking the best bits from others, and adding ideas of his own, the event ran very smoothly.

The calibre of acts was first rate - even in the Battle Of The Bands contest which is for new artists to showcase their talents and try and win £2000 of recording time at the world famous Monnow Valley recording studio.

The festival in 2012 runs over the Queen's Jubilee Bank Holiday Weekend. (There is a Bank holiday on Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th June.) This allows patrons to enjoy a full 4 days of entertainment from Friday 1st to Monday 4th June and have another day to travel home on Bank holiday Tuesday.

Also new in 2012, we have The Lawmen (Bristol) Wild West show.

Plans are also afoot for the first Lamb National which consists of racing sheep around the main arena. Punters can bet on the winner with proceeds going to charity.
